Helping Refugees Arrive to Safety

WIN provided travel support for 756 refugees across the globe, including:

•72 newcomers from Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Guatemala to the U.S. 

•544+ Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders to the U.S. from 21 countries

•26 refugee students from Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Syria to Japan

•69 refugee students from Syria, South Sudan, 

WIN provided travel support for 756 refugees across the globe, including:

•72 newcomers from Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Guatemala to the U.S. 

•544+ Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders to the U.S. from 21 countries

•26 refugee students from Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Syria to Japan

•69 refugee students from Syria, South Sudan, Sudan, Somalia, Burundi, and Iraq who were accepted to universities across the U.S.

WIN provided critical legal support for:

  • 105 refugee students who were accepted to universities across the U.S., with assistance applying for green cards.
  • More than a dozen legal empowerment trainings to support newcomers, sponsor groups, and organizational partners 
  • 72 newcomers to apply for employment authorization documents.

WIN continues to serve as a critical connector to convene and support strategic conversations:

  • With national stakeholders, state leaders, and innovative partners to advance solutions to welcome more newcomers as states begin to play a bigger role in refugee resettlement.
  • With on the ground partners to uplift innovative models and service delivery that centers humans and welcoming.
